About TwinFlow

TwinFlow project aims to enhance production and intralogistics operations. The project is motivated by the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry, which holds promise for new data-driven solutions and business opportunities. IoT technologies, information technologies (IT), operational technologies (OT), European data architecture models and fair data economy principles have all reached a maturity level that converging these into one concept enables new data driven business and added value for ecosystem partners.

Research Outcomes

  • We establish a TwinFlow concept which enables new production-intralogistics business models compatible with European data architecture and following fair data economy principles.
  • We integrate heterogenous data from IT/OT systems, added with identification, tracking, tracing, indoor positioning, and machine vision systems for enhanced situational awareness.
  • We define a distributed, federative data platform with edge-cloud continuum for advanced analytics across management systems. Situational awareness is visualized in personal dashboards.
  • With selected demonstrators we create interoperable and scalable solutions to be integrated into any TwinFlow concept based system.

Scalability

University research teams

Scientific research is carried out by two universities (*Aalto and **Tampere) and nine research teams covering required research areas (technologies, business, legal & people) to build a successful concept.
